Soloing Workshop Tomorrow

Published: Fri, 10/14/22

workshop tomorrow morning, Saturday October 15th. You can register for the workshop up until 10am Central tomorrow morning, and when you do, you'll also get two weeks' unlimited access to the Fingerstyle Five, my monthly membership for keeping your practicing focused and your playing moving forward, whether you're interested in learning new songs, improving your groove or starting to improvise. On Wednesday, I spent about fifteen minutes on Youtube previewing the three main topics for Saturday's class; I've included a link to that live stream below along with links to register for the workshop or sign up for the Fingerstyle Five:

The live stream had folks tuning from Italy, Norway, Australia, Finland, Belgium and the Netherlands, and from all across the U.S. and Canada. That is a lot of fingerpickers, any way you slice it. Several Fingerstyle Five students took part in Wednesday's live stream, and here's what a couple of them had to say about the membership in the comments:

"I HIGHLY recommend David's Fingerstyle Five membership. He's a world-class player and teacher. He has an ability to break things down into small learnable pieces so your fingers and thumb finally behave themselves. I've learned so much and it's really been fun." –Mike D.

"I also highly recommend David's membership site. I love that the lesson are broken down into manageable pieces, and he has a knack for explaining things in a very approachable way. Definitely one of the best resources available anywhere." –Four Inch Cats

If you've thought about checking out the membership but have wanted to kick the tires first, this is the perfect opportunity. When you sign up for tomorrow's workshop, you'll also get two weeks' unlimited access to every song, lesson and live stream available to ongoing members, including tunes like "Rollin' and Tumblin'," "Trouble In Mind," "St. James Infirmary," "You Got To Move" and "Crow Black Chicken," plus resources like my Practice Planner, beginning theory lessons, chord substitution workshops and more.

This week's Youtube lesson continues my ongoing series on the foundations of improvisation. If you want to learn why dialing in your right hand coordination – something I'll also be covering in detail in tomorrow's workshop – is the best way to start building your blues vocabulary, check out the lesson at the link below:
