New Workshop: The Swing Scale

Published: Tue, 05/09/23

The Swing Scale, the second workshop in this series, will take place on May 20 and will cover playing the changes on the blues by combining the blues scale with major pentatonic notes. Bebop For Beginners, on June 24, will explain how to add chromatic notes and altered tones to your blues improvisation. A replay of Freddie Green Chords, which took place in April, is still available as well.

Each workshop is designed to stand on its own, but taken together, these three classes will give you a thorough overview of how swing and jazz musicians look at the twelve bar blues, along with plenty of hands-on exercises, full-chorus examples, and licks you can swap in to create variations of your own.

I've created a video in which I explain more about Reliable Source generally and the Swing Scale workshop in particular, which you can find at the link below, along with everything you need to sign up for The Swing Scale:

If you missed Freddie Green Chords back in April, you can still get all three workshops – the Freddie Green Chords replay, The Swing Scale, and Bebop For Beginners – at a special bundle price.

P.S. If you already signed up for the three-workshop bundle back in April, you don't have to do anything further at this moment to take part in The Swing Scale.
