Mostly people make records there, but every few months Matt hosts a different guitar workshop for a small, limited number of students. It's a chance to get up close, personal instruction in a specific style of playing, and past workshops have featured some of my favorite guitarists, including David Grissom, Redd Volkaert and Bill Kirchen.
So this Saturday, I'll be spending the day unlocking how to play better fingerstyle blues guitar. Specifically, this workshop will help you with three of the most elusive yet essential aspects of playing solo blues guitar:
- How to generate a solid, reliable groove
- How to put together your own instrumental arrangement of a song, and
- How to start improvising when you sit down to play.
