Casa Fretboard was out of town last week. Despite that, I managed to whip up a respectable newsletter all about our doings on the East coast and a bit about last Friday's Youtube lesson.
But then there was a bit of a snafu, and the Youtube lesson came out sans newsletter. And this week, I have a couple of other things I should talk about, so today's newsletter is a little on the logistical
side.
First up: on June 29th, I'll be presenting the next Reliable Source workshop, Chord Melody Blues. If you want to know how to add jazz chord voicings, riff-style comping and harmonized blues melodies to your twelve-bar blues playing, I'll have more info and and signup page available early next week.
Second: my long-awaited new solo instrumental album, Parisian Blues, will officially release on July 6th. I am working on live-streaming the
record release show happening that night, and in the meantime, you can pre-order the digital downloadable album on Bandcamp:
Parisian Blues on Bandcamp
A limited run of signed and numbered physical CDs will be available as well. I did learn last time that the time and hassle involved in shipping these
beyond the U.S. is more than my little guitar player brain can manage, so I regret to say that physical CDs are only available for shipment within the U.S.
And finally, of course, there is a new Youtube lesson this week. Today's video is all about how to add bass lines to a fingerstyle blues arrangement, and you can find it at the link below:
Walking Basslines: The Secret Acoustic Blues Soloing Technique
This lesson is part of what we are covering this month in the Fingerstyle Five, so if you'd like learn more about incorporating ideas like this into your own playing, and get complete notation and tab for what I teach here plus all the other arranging and improvising ideas I've been covering lately in the membership, sign up and join us at the link
