The dog has been out on a walk

Investigating, block by block

All of the most attractive scents

And other canine evidence

But when we step into the park

At daybreak, dusk, or after dark

The pace picks up, the leash goes taut

As we approach the picnic spot

They say the doodle breeds are bright

I am inclined to think they're right

This furball, in particular

Knows just where all the goodies are

The frosting-crusted paper plates

The pizza crusts nobody ate

The soda cups, still halfway filled

The sandwich crumbs somebody spilled

And while I struggle to divert

Her from the prospect of dessert

I have to say, I do admire

A girl in touch with her desire

But I digress. I'm here to speak
