I occasionally get asked if will be playing live anywhere near [insert city / town here]. Usually the answer is "no," because I'm not usually playing live near anywhere, unless you live near Austin and have nothing going on the first Saturday of each month.

That's when, like some kind of werewolf who's managed to adapt to the Gregorian calendar, I surface like clockwork to play at my local joint, the New World Deli.

But in a couple of weeks, you can find me a little further afield. On Friday, April 25th, I'll be at the Blind Finch in Spring, Texas, and the 26th at the Red Dragon in Baton Rouge:

Another thing I occasionally get asked is "hey, why don't you post more performances on your Youtube channel?" Admittedly, this usually happens once I finally do post a performance on the channel, but my answer for this one is usually "because I'm pretty sure people come to my channel for the lessons."

But my pal Chris Green did a lovely edit of some footage from my March show at the Deli (see "local joint," above), so for today's Youtube video, I'm posting one of those songs, a blues of mine from my 2015 record Pennsylvania Station Blues called "No Sun Above." You can find it here:

And a third question I occasionally get asked is: "Do you have the tab for [insert name of one of my original songs here]?" My answer to this one is usually "no," except for a couple of things I've written out for various guitar magazines over the years, like "The Kansas City Lowdown" or "Chromatic Nocturne."

Finally, here's one question I almost never get asked: "Do you know where Richard Smith is playing next?" But guess what – he's playing just down the road from me tonight, April 11th, at the Meridian in downtown Buda, Texas.
