The fretboard, voicing harmonies

With sixths or sevenths, as you please

Inversions too, which is a word

That means you have the fifth, or third

Played in the bass, and not the root

Which now might disappear, or scoot

Up to the fourth or third string, where

You should still have a digit spare

With which to grab the proper pitch

Before the moment comes to ditch

The current chord, and move on to

The next one, and another few

In turn, and so on til you come

Back to the point you started from
